Privacy Policy

AirTalk connects you with strangers for voice and text conversation. This page explains exactly what we store, what we don't, and why.

What we collect

• An anonymous ID. On your first visit we generate a random identifier and store it in your browser so you can be matched and reconnected. It contains no personal information.
• Account details, only if you create an account. Either a username and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text), or — if you sign in with Google — your Google account identifier and email address.
• Your friends and messages. Friend requests, accepted friendships, and messages you exchange with friends are stored so they're there when you return.
• Technical diagnostics. Connection events (joining a queue, being matched, whether a call connected or failed), and for failed connections your browser's user-agent string and country code. We use these to fix connection problems.
• Reports. If you report someone, we store who reported whom and the reason.

What we do not collect

• We never record your voice. Audio travels directly between you and the other person. It is not recorded, stored, or listened to by us.
• No camera, ever. There is no video feature in this product.
• Conversations with strangers aren't stored. Text sent during a random chat is passed between the two of you and not written to our database. Messages with accepted friends are stored, because that's the point of an inbox.
• No advertising or tracking cookies. We don't run ad networks or trackers.

If you sign in with Google

We request only your basic profile and email address. We use your email to identify your account and derive a suggested username. We do not read your Gmail, contacts, or any other Google data, and we do not post anything on your behalf. Your use of Google sign-in is also governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Where your data lives

Data is stored using Cloudflare's platform (Workers, D1, and Durable Objects). Voice connections use STUN, and may use a relay server when a direct connection can't be established — relayed audio passes through but is not recorded.

Cookies

We use a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in to protect against request forgery. Your session identifier is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a tracking cookie.

Your choices

• You can use AirTalk anonymously, without creating an account at all.
• You can sign out at any time, which removes the session from your browser.
• You can request deletion of your account and its messages by contacting us at the address below.

Age requirement

AirTalk is intended for people aged 18 and over.
